Is there somewhere I can listen to the soundtrack

I would also love to have it available somewhere. It is gorgeous!

hey! I added the main track as a downloadable file in the game page :) Just above the comments! Thank you <3

This is a super cool game! So many fun ideas. I also adore the music! Did you create it yourself?

I loved the atmosphere of the opening scene, and the game's aesthetics in general. It was very difficult, but it's a super fun game. Looking forward to the full game!

What the hell this is incredible

Wow this is a really fun, if difficult game. Loved everything about it, from the simplicity in artwork, to the hints of sinister story. Loved the way new enemy block types were introduced and demonstrated before puzzles then start being built around them.

Chefs kiss!

Feels like a complete game already and its just a Game Jam build! I'm jealous I did not come up with this game myself, incredibly unique and fun!

Great game! Well designed and polished! I loved it!

I liked the unity of the slightly spooky atmosphere of the whole game and the feeling of gradually escaping from the game by clearing the stages!

The barrage of bullets generated by the various types of enemies was fun, and the difficulty curve was just right for me.

It was a lot of fun to play, MEOW!

Good game with really fun gameplay

Really enjoyed this! Very well made, graphics, mechanics, GREAT music, so many levels! Great work!

Played and finished the game. Its insane the amount of content and polish you managed to do in this jam. The game has it all content(51 levels and a boss fight is insane), nice ambiance music and different and cool mechanics. It is insanely polished and it took me an hour to finish the game. I hope you continue this game and flesh out the story because that opening screen was sick, loved to see more of it 10/10

Your game gives me imposter syndrome, because of it's lavish polish. I like that just about the time I wondered if this game has music or not it starts playing in a suitably entrancing swell. My only feedback isn't really helpful at all: This type of game just doesn't click with me, and so I didn't have the patience to finish level 16. I still had a blast with it for a little bit, and admire every little detail you put into it. Amazing job. Stunning visually.

A solid tribute to Void Stranger while still distinct and mostly its own thing.

The atmosphere and vibes are on point, the mood felt very consistent. Complemented well by the music (which didn't play for the first dozen or so levels, not sure if that's intentional or a bug).

Gameplay took some getting used to - the large player hitbox was manageable by itself, but shooting an enemy sometimes pushed it back in unpredictable ways. Not a biggie, as there weren't any solutions that required pixel perfect movement or very precise inputs.

The plot and lore didn't feel very fleshed out and some aspects didn't make much sense, as I don't think there were enough rules and concepts of the game world exposed (e.g. defeating the warden by aggroing his ramiels and solving a puzzle..?). Of course, it makes sense given the jam time limit, and there was still some neat attention to detail at times, such as unique background elements on some levels and the guitar part.

Overall - a moody, interesting piece, well worth the time I spent playing it. Void Stranger influences were quite apparent throughout, and I'm curious how it's going to transition into a full game.

I could play this for hours and not get bored, but I realize I'm also not doing anything productive now because I'm so emersed great submission!

Awesome game, I can't believe the amount of mechanics and levels you implemented in so little time :)

And a bossfight too!

Can't get over how polished and juicy it all feels. Amazing!

Damn, humbling. One dev, too. Remarkable job man!

That was pretty fun, simple yet addicting. Give Spreadball a try :D

Awesome mini game. The progression is definitiv a thing. Some levels later on are much easier then the pervious one. But feels like a complete game that you could get on steam. Like the simple artstyle and gameplay <3

A few levels were a little frustrating, but overall I really liked the feel. The aesthetic really sold me, too. I think you actually made a few too many levels, of all things, I ended up getting a little burnt out before I hit level 40, and the slot-in mechanic felt like it could have been shown as early as level 10. But still! This is an amazing submission, I love it! Good luck!

it's missing something. It's fun for the most part. Frustrating but no sense of progression. I got to whatever level introduces the laser / key. There was some frustration with the skill curve. Raising the skill of the enemies but no apparent upgrade in abilities. That's fine but many of the enemies look the same so it takes a few tries to understand the behavior from level to level.

There is also a clear disconnect with the theme. After playing it, I read the document and the enemies spread a trail which then slowly shrinks. That interpretation feels like a huge stretch.

Also, reading the document, 52 LEVELS!!!!!! Sometimes more is just more. It's very long with no save system. Not a game I feel I could push through in one sitting without losing interest.

Overall, it's very polished, good gameplay, excellent arcade game but it feels like you put a lot of effort into the levels and a lot of them.

First thoughts were what exactly is spreading? for what the game is, its nice. The music and simplicity is nice. But the collision of the Dark Grey box that moves on its own is a bit large and you die when its traveling up and you follow in the gas particles. This can be worked on to have a very nice relaxing game to just sit down and play for half an hour each night.

Really really really good, the aesthetic, the music, the puzzles, I loved everything <3 Could totally see this as a full release on steam and I would def buy it

Thank you so much <3 I'm definitely considering making a full game :)

Very good ambience, nice story, well polished graphisms. Difficulty is nice to my taste. Nice musics and juicy gameplay. Good job!

I would love holding mouse button to keep shooting.

Also would like if the behaviour of the enemies was explained within the game the first time they are introduced. On level 12 and still not sure whats the blue things behaviour.

EDIT:

Nice surprise on lvl 3*, maybe there were more.

I would also love it there was a pause when you load into a level, waiting for your input to analyse the level.

I feel like i die at least once or twice every level because i expect it to start in paused state.

Cosy guitar song is nice.

Difficulty progression of the levels was not great, though i myself commit that error with puzzle games, im not much of a puzzler :D

Boss was pretty well done, just missing some epic organ music and some screaming when he dies.

now ill turn my sling into a guitar and make a duo...

Fun game, felt like shooting didn't mean much as most levels could be navigated with clever movement. Shooting felt like it introduce more chaos than it helped. The trails that were safe to walk on made it hard to tell when an area was safe vs still dangerous.

Good game overall

Absolutely love the music, art, and gameplay. I was on the edge of my seat, especially during the last encounter. Great work!

Really cool stuff. Hard as nails!

I would really like to test this game, but unfortunately I can't seem to figure out how to get past the "First Break" - Start screen?
It doesnt matter what I press, nothing happens. I have no controller plugged in and am using the Brave Browser.

The art looks pretty neat though!

EDIT:
Okay, for some reason the "Start" and "Credits" is not shown in Brave. It works in Chrome!

Oh cool i'm glad it ended up working! I never used Brave before, but I wonder if it doesn't support WEBGL effects? the outline on "Start" and "Credits" is made with WEBGL.

I have to tip my hat to this one. Wow. Just wow. If this doesn't win I'll be very surprised. Great work!

Plays really well and its a good challenge! I like it!

Played through the entire game. Holy hell it's brilliantly made. 10/10

this is so good!

the ambience is so unsettling for some reason and i love it

only complaint i would have is its really hard lol

not that its bad, but for a game jam its usually best to make the game as accessible as possible especially for judges (even a level select would be great)

that way if you have really good levels at the end, but theyre locked behind a huge skill wall people can still see them

overall, insanely good!
